Donna Scheuerle of Philadelphia and Jay Scheuerle of St. Saturnin lès Apt sorrowfully announce the passing of their beloved daughter, Savannah Lee Scheuerle, at home in Philadelphia on May 25, 2025, at the age of 28.

Savannah (b. September 18, 1996) was bilingual in Spanish since the first grade. She loved swimming, comedy, making short video films, poetry and lyrics. She was a talented musician. Her parents introduced her to music at an early age and one of the highlights of her summers was attending the Bethlehem Musikfest.  She studied music as a child and eventually became an accomplished bass player performing on stage in bands at the age of 15. She was blessed with a wonderful singing voice.  She was also a talented researcher and blog writer for online articles. 

Savvy had a great artistic sense as well, drawing thoughtful cartoons, making clever sculptures, and putting together stylish outfits. She had a flair for cooking and entertaining and took a particular interest in her Polish heritage.  Thoughtful, compassionate, and generous, she often culled her closet for donations to the homeless and walked them directly to people in need in Philadelphia.

She loved exploring new places and had the opportunity to travel, enjoying California, Hawaii, England, Switzerland, and regularly visiting South Carolina, New Jersey and her native Pennsylvania.  She loved animals and being in nature. 

Friends and family will remember her for the fun she brought and her energetic smile. She loved a good laugh and wasn’t afraid of being silly on occasion.  She could keep a secret.  Her friends describe Savvy as compassionate, loyal, fun, empathetic, encouraging, intelligent, brave, and charming.

She grew up to be a good listener, with a special interest in social justice and gender issues.  The centerpiece of her essence was kindness and a quick wit. 

Savannah will also be dearly missed by her maternal grandfather, Robert Lodeski; her aunts and uncles, Lisa Lodeski, James Lodeski, Greg Lodeski, and Cathy (Scheuerle) Wills; her stepfather, Rob Fennell; and her stepmother, Liz Wilkinson.  Additionally, her aunt and uncle of the heart Mary Gillett and James DiMartino and her long time best friend, Leo Casino. She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother Elizabeth Lodeski, her paternal grandparents Claire and Paul Scheuerle, and their son, Jeff Scheuerle, and her Uncle Robert L. Stoy.

A celebration of her life is planned for the Fall.
